12 Key Zen Habits

I have had this little poster on the wall in my office for quite a while. I am really trying to get into these habits daily. Somedays I'm good....somedays...not so much. I really enjoy Leonie's Goddess Guidebook website and think you will too! Check it out - You too can be a Goddess! You can also download your own "12 Key Zen Habits" poster here.

1. Set your Three Most Important Tasks each morning.

2. Single-task (focus your attention).

6. Work while disconnected.

7. Keep your desk decluttered.

8. Clear and declutter home for 15 minutes a day.

9. Stick to a 5 sentence limit on emails (make your words powerful).

10. Say NO to commitments & requests not on your important short list.

11. Eat fresh fruit & veggies every day.

I'm Back!!!!

Seems I went on a long vacation and came back to Fall! In honor of all that, here's a fun Fall decoration that very easy and an awesome pie recipe!

Create a vase with a gourd that stands upright. Slice off the stem and use a long, slender knife to widen the opening if necessary. Add a handful of bright mums.

Vermont Maple Oatmeal Pie (SO good for you!)

Ingredients:

1 sheet refrigerated pie pastry
4 eggs
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup quick-cooking oats
3/4 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup butter, melted
3 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup flaked coconut
Vanilla ice cream, optional

Directions: Unroll pastry into a 9-in. pie plate; flute edges. In a large bowl, combine the eggs, sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt. Stir in the oats, syrups, butter and vanilla; pour into crust. Sprinkle with coconut. Bake at 350° for 50-60 minutes or until set. Cover edges with foil during the last 15 minutes to prevent overbrowning if necessary. Cool on a wire rack. Serve with ice cream if desired. Refrigerate leftovers. Yield: 8 servings.

Enjoy!
